Things to do for teens in Holland, Michigan (that aren't the beach)
A list from the crew that runs Friday teen night at Shift: the arcade, bowling, movies, downtown on 8th Street, the cheap options, and what to do when it's cold.

Looking for something fun to do after school or on the weekends? Below are some other ideas that aren't the beach, though we do love the beach. Written by the crew that runs Friday teen night at Shift, so we're biased and we'll say when we are.
When you have a car
- The Lost City: for your classic arcade experience.
- Lucky Strike: everyone likes bowling, right?
- Shift Climbing: that's us! Try out bouldering!
- Holland Ice Park: for when it's cold enough outside.
- Sperry's Moviehouse: movies, movies, movies.
- Kin Coffeehouse: grab a drink, do a craft.
- Sanctuary Woods: hike the stairs, walk the loop.
When you don't
Get dropped off on 8th St. and have a day downtown.
- Lemonjellos: hangout spot with coffee, snacks, smoothies.
- Herrick Library: find a new read or 5.
- Fris Supply: pick out a craft to do at home.
- Spend the afternoon window shopping all of the cool stores.
Cheap
- Shift Climbing: come in Fridays after school or Wednesdays on early release days and climb for $5 (shoes and chalk included).
- Sperry's: tickets under $15.
- LJ's: good inexpensive coffee and snacks.
When it's a group of eight
- Shift Climbing: got a bigger group? Great! That means you get a discount on day passes (if it's not during our high school climb time). Give us a call and we'll get you the pricing.
- Sperry's: call ahead.
- Lucky Strike: call ahead.
- The Lost City: call ahead.
