How Liz Found Strength for a New Season at Shift Climbing

Looking to get back into fitness after her fourth baby, Liz found an approachable community at Shift that makes climbing accessible for everyone.

What got me into climbing originally when I was seven was the pine tree in my front yard. I think it was my love of tree climbing that made my parents think maybe we should take her to a rock climbing gym. And then the rest is history.

And then recently I had my fourth and final baby a year and a half ago and I want to get strong again. I've been working really hard on my upper body strength. So I really like the cave. It's provided an opportunity for me to kind of mark my progress. I actually feel like I'm even stronger now than I was eight years ago.

After my first two visits, it was very clear to me somebody did a great job hiring. Everyone is so good. It's such an approachable atmosphere. Everyone's so friendly. It's attracting everybody from young people wanting to try something new to people like me who've maybe done it before but haven't had the accessibility. Like Shift is breaking down some of the schedule barriers that people have from getting back into climbing because there's a route here for everybody and that makes for a nice healthy mix of of people.
