THE FACILITY

We built a state-of-the-art facility specifically for our West Michigan community.

How big, how steep, how tall, and yes, we have air conditioning. Here is what you are walking into.

#1
the largest climbing gym in Holland, Michigan
6,500+
square feet of climbing surface, paired with the world's only tiltable boulder
TB2
a Tension Board 2 training wall, with a hangboard station and a full Rogue gym set up
A/C
fully air conditioned year-round. Chalk stays dry and you stay comfortable.

Walls run 16 to 17 feet tall over thick padded flooring. No ropes, no harnesses, nothing to clip. Climb up, climb down, or land on the pads.

THE STEEP WALL

61 feet wide, 45 to 60 degrees.

Our overhang is 61.4 feet wide and 16 feet tall, moving from 45 to 60 degrees across two sections. Width matters most on steep terrain, because it lets us run easy, moderate and hard circuits at the same angle at the same time.

New to steep climbing? Do not let the angle put you off. We set easy climbs on it on purpose, with big friendly holds, and falling means dropping away from the wall onto flat padding.

THE BOULDER THAT MOVES

Same holds. Three different climbs.

Our hydraulic boulder tilts from vertical to 13 degrees left to 13 degrees right, and we set it to be climbed in all three positions. One structure does the work of three.

It is the world's only tiltable boulder. Come pull on it and you will see why we bothered.

THE TRAINING AREA

Tension Board 2, hangboard, and a Rogue setup.

The TB2 is a standardized, adjustable-angle wall connected to an app with thousands of benchmarked problems. Set your angle, pick a problem, and measure yourself against climbers worldwide. A full Rogue gym set up with free weights, racks and cardio means a training day never needs a second gym membership.

WHAT IS UNDER YOUR FEET

Falling is part of bouldering, so we engineered for it.

4,348 square feet of continuous flooring and padding, 14 inches thick under the main walls, with extended fall zones around every structure.

Our walls are engineered to EN 12572-2:2017, the international safety standard for bouldering walls, with the structural design independently reviewed by a US structural engineering firm. Ask the front desk about the 108-page document. Our staff mostly humors us.

EVERY KIND OF TERRAIN, ON PURPOSE

Each wall asks your body a different question.

Slab

Leans back, less than vertical. The teacher of footwork and balance. Hands won't save you.

Vertical

The straight-up classic, where precise body position starts to matter more than pulling power.

Gentle overhangs

15 to 25 degrees past vertical. The bridge between technique and strength, and a great place to build body tension.

Steep overhangs

Your whole body works. We set easy circuits here too, so newer climbers are never shut out.

Dihedrals

Inside corners, like an open book. They teach stemming and creative resting.

Aretes

Outside edges you wrap and squeeze. Pure compression and body control.

WHY BOULDERING

Start quickly, climb independently, skip the intimidating heights.

Shift is a bouldering gym on purpose. Every climb ends with a safe step or drop to the floor, and nobody needs a harness, a belay lesson, or a partner.

BEYOND THE WALLS

Make yourself at home.

Madcap espresso, a lounge and co-work space with wifi, three unisex bathrooms, a full shower for lunch-break sessions, and free shoe and chalk rental with every day pass and membership.

Walk in any open hour, no reservation needed. Shoes and chalk are included, and our staff will help you find your first climb.
