Intuitive Climbing is a members-only, drop-in class led by our head routesetter, Jack Murphy - a USA Climbing Level 1 certified routesetter and the person who builds the boulders you're trying to read. No curriculum, no commitment, no skill requirement. Show up when you can, climb with people who want to get better, and ask anything.
Most climbers pull onto a boulder and start improvising. Intuitive climbing is the opposite skill: reading the problem before you leave the ground. Which way is that hold oriented? Where does the setter want your hips? Which foot moves first? Jack teaches you to solve climbs with your eyes before your hands - and since he set the climbs, you're learning to read the puzzle from the person who wrote it.
The group gathers on the mats, picks boulders, and works them together. Jack breaks down what the climb is asking for, you try it, and the group talks through what worked. Questions about technique, routesetting, training, or anything else about climbing are the point, not an interruption.
Every member, at every level. Newer climbers shortcut years of trial and error by learning to read movement early. Experienced climbers sharpen the vocabulary - and everyone leaves knowing a few more people in the gym.
